Order Urethane Casting Online
Welcome to UnityManufacture, where 1 to 200 plastic parts can look, feel and behave like production injection mouldings without the cost of hardened steel tooling. Urethane casting (also called vacuum casting) pours measured resin into a silicone mould, cures it in a vacuum chamber and produces parts that are visually and functionally close to the final injection moulded article. It is the standard bridge between CNC machined prototypes and injection molding, and the most cost-effective answer when the order is too small for hard tooling but you still need real resin performance.
What sets UnityManufacture’s Urethane Casting apart?
- State-of-the-Art Technology: Our vacuum chambers degas the resin, eliminate micro-bubbles and let us cast wall sections down to 0.8 mm with consistent density across every part.
- Expert Team: Our casting engineers match the resin family to the part geometry, draft and finish before any silicone is poured, because most surface defects are designed in, not cast in.
- Customized Solutions: Send us your CAD and we will quote silicone tooling, sample parts and production in one package; if the volume justifies injection molding later, the test data carries forward.
- Tight Tolerances: Linear dimensions hold to +/-0.3 mm on the first 50 mm and +/-0.005 mm per mm beyond, with moulded-in features faithful to +/-0.05 mm on the master pattern.
- Quality Assurance: Every batch is checked against the master pattern with CMM and surface profile gauges, and first-article inspection reports are available on request.
- Timely Delivery: First parts ship in 5 to 10 working days from approved pattern, and repeat orders start from stocked silicone moulds with no further sampling.

Finishing Options
Our company offers a wide range of finishing options to make your urethane cast parts look and perform their best. Our finishing services include:
As-Cast
This option provides the fastest turnaround. Parts are demoulded and the parting line is hand-trimmed, leaving the natural cast surface ready for spray painting, plating or labelling.
Coating Services
We offer various coating options to help protect your parts from corrosion and wear. Such as:
Surface Finishes
You can enjoy a variety of finishes with our multiple surface finish options, which include,
polishing
Heat Treatment
You can choose any of the following options for effective heat treatment.
Custom finishes upon request
We also provide additional processing and finishes upon request. Our team of experts will work with you to ensure that your parts are finished to your exact specifications.

Urethane Casting Applications
Urethane casting is the standard route between CNC prototypes and injection production. Typical programmes we run include:
- Functional prototypes: engineering samples for fit, ergonomics and tolerance checks before committing to injection molding tooling.
- Marketing and sales samples: realistic product samples for trade shows, investor demos and field testing.
- Low-volume production runs: limited editions, pilot runs and spare-part production where volumes do not justify hard tooling.
- Consumer and wearable electronics: device housings, wearable enclosures and remote controls with realistic resin colour and texture.
- Lighting and optical products: clear PC-like lenses, light pipes and bezels that need optical-grade resin but in small quantities.
- Investment casting patterns and master patterns: master models for downstream casting, vacuum forming or short-run injection trials.

Overview: What is Urethane Casting?
Urethane casting builds a silicone rubber mould around a master pattern (typically SLA or CNC machined) and pours measured liquid resin into that mould under vacuum. The vacuum eliminates trapped air, so the resin fills fine detail and reproduces the surface finish of the master. Once cured, the silicone is peeled away and the part is demoulded, with one mould typically yielding 20 to 50 castings before the silicone loses geometry.
The economics are different from every other process on this site. Each silicone mould costs a small fraction of an injection tool and is built in days, not weeks, so urethane casting sits in the volume window from a single prototype to roughly 200 pieces where injection moulding is uneconomic. Once volumes exceed that, the same CAD can move directly to injection molding with the data carried forward; for metal parts under similar low-volume conditions, the equivalent bridge is CNC machining from billet.
