Surface Finishing Services

Order Order Surface Finishing Services Online
Unity Manufacture applies the finish your parts need to survive corrosion, wear and inspection. We run anodizing, powder coating, bead blasting, passivation, plating and brushing on CNC machined and sheet metal parts, to the specification written on your drawing, and ship in as little as three days.
What sets Unity Manufacture’s surface finishing service apart?
- One-Stop Finishing Line: Anodizing, powder coating, bead blasting, passivation, plating and brushing are scheduled on the same order, so parts never sit in a queue between vendors.
- Specification-Driven: Every job runs to a written standard, MIL-A-8625 for anodizing, ASTM A967 for passivation, ASTM D3359 for coating adhesion, not to a generic shop finish.
- Masking and Selective Coverage: Threads, bores, mating faces and grounding points are masked so critical dimensions stay inside tolerance after coating.
- Documented Results: Coating thickness, adhesion and salt-spray results are recorded per batch and can ship with your parts.
- Engineering Review First: Our engineers flag thin walls, deep recesses and tight-tolerance threads before the first part is racked, not after it comes back out of spec.
- Any Part, Any Source: Send us parts we machined, parts you already have, or a full assembly. Finishing is quoted as a stand-alone service or bundled with manufacturing.

Finishing Processes
Every process below is available as a stand-alone service or bundled with CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication. Choose the one that matches the environment your part will see.
Conversion Coatings
Anodizing, chromate conversion and passivation convert the existing surface into a harder, more stable layer. They add corrosion resistance with minimal dimensional change.
Applied Coatings
Powder coating, wet painting and plating deposit a new layer of controlled thickness. We manage build-up and mask critical features so assemblies still fit.
Mechanical Finishes
Bead blasting, brushing, polishing and vibratory finishing change texture and appearance without adding material, which makes them safe on tight-tolerance bores.
Pre-Treatment & Cleaning
Parts are degreased, etched and deoxidised before any coating is applied. Skipping this step is the single most common cause of coating failure.
Custom finishes upon request
Need a finish that is not listed? Send us the specification or a sample. Our engineers will match the process, thickness and colour, then quote it with the rest of your order.

Overview: What is Surface Finishing?
Surface finishing is the set of processes applied to a part after it has been machined, formed or cast. It changes the outermost layer of the material, or adds a controlled layer on top of it, to improve corrosion resistance, wear life, electrical behaviour, paint adhesion or appearance. For most engineered components the finish is not cosmetic: it is what decides whether the part survives its service environment.
Finishing methods fall into three groups. Conversion coatings such as anodizing and passivation transform the existing surface into a harder, more stable oxide. Applied coatings such as powder coating, painting and plating deposit a new layer of controlled thickness. Mechanical finishes such as bead blasting, brushing and polishing change texture without adding material. Choosing between them is a trade-off between corrosion performance, dimensional impact, cost and appearance, and we quote all three against your drawing.
